File Management, User Care and Common Sense (continue...) Clean Up Your Desktop Every single application seems to think it needs to putt one, two or four shortcut icons on your desktop. Any shortcut on your desktop is also available on the Start Menu. Just keep shortcuts to the programs you uses most often. Delete unnecessary shortcuts, and access seldom used programs through the Start Menu. If your Start Menu is become to little hard to navigate, with two or three breads popping up (or to scroll bar in Win98) then think about creating folders under 'Programs' and consolidating your applications. You could have to folder called Graphics, and have the shortcuts to all your graphics manipulation programs in it. Or, maybe to folder called Communications could hold shortcuts to your fax program, your FTP program, and any other communications type apps. I think you get the designs. (continue...
